Mission

We report the news that affects Eritreans wherever they live — in the diaspora and at home — with the same standard of verification regardless of who it flatters or embarrasses. We give proportionate weight to the practical questions of migration, residency, and family life that shape daily decisions, alongside the political and regional news that shapes the wider picture.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are made by our editorial staff alone. No funder, donor, advertiser, or political party has advance access to coverage, the right to review a story before publication, or influence over assignment or angle. Where a conflict of interest exists — financial, familial, or political — it is disclosed on the relevant story.

Funding sources

Asmara Post is currently self-funded. We are setting up reader donations through Donorbox; once that's live, any funding source that crosses our disclosure threshold will be listed on the full Ownership & Funding page.
