Manchester United have completed the signing of Mexico international Rebeca Bernal from Washington Spirit of the United States' National Women's Soccer League.

Bernal, a 28-year-old defender who can also play in midfield, has won 65 caps for Mexico and made 20 appearances for Washington Spirit this year. She joined the NWSL side from Liga MX Femenil club Monterrey in February 2025. The move makes her the first Mexican player to feature in the Women's Super League.

The signing is United's fourth of the summer window, adding depth to a squad preparing for the new WSL season, which kicks off this week.
